Foreman, Arkansas

One of the many sons of Judge
James Samples Dollarhide (1818-1899) was Daniel Simpson
Dollarhide. Daniel (1856-1943) and his wife Elizabeth Freeman
(1861-1895) had seven children, one of whom was William Freeman
Dollarhide (1888-1926).
William was born in January,
1888 in Rocky Comfort (now Foreman), Little River County, Arkansas.
He married Katie Stirman (1888-1969) of Arapaho, Oklahoma on October 14, 1911 at the
bride's house in Arapaho. He was a widely respected school teacher, principal and
superintendent in Arkansas towns including Hackett, Gurdon and Bearden. He
and Katie had one son, Roger Freeman
Dollarhide (1912-1995) and are survived today by grandsons David,
William and Jim
and numerous great grandchildren. William Freeman died prematurely
at 38 on June 7, 1926 after a sudden, brief illness. He is buried at
Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock, AR. At the time of his death he
was survived by his wife, Katie, son Roger, his father, D. S. Dollarhide
of Foreman, a sister, Mrs. J. S. M. Cannon of Little Rock and two
brothers, D. A. Dollarhide of Washington, D. C. and E. S. Dollarhide of
