Henry Dollarhide
Jim was born June 8, 1952 in Greenwood, Mississippi and is the fourth son of Adelaide Dollarhide and Roger Freeman Dollarhide. Jim was married to Kathryn Dollarhide for twenty five years. They have three children, Jim, Jr., born 1980, John, born 1983 and Kate, born 1991. He lives near Jackson at Lake Cavalier. Jim's father, Roger (1912-1995), was originally from central and south Arkansas, and married Adelaide (1917-1987) in Grenada, Mississippi and raised four sons in north and central Mississippi. Jim is an accomplished and active film production executive in Jackson, Mississippi. He began his film career at Murrah High School in Jackson where he was the well-known, ubiquitous school photographer. After a period at Ewing Audio Visual and work as a sports filmmaker for the NCAA and NFL Films he opened his own company, Imageworks, Inc., in 1977. Over the next twenty years, it grew to be Mississippi's premier production company. Early projects included a wide range of productions for both regional clients as well as the BBC, Shell Offshore, and ARAMCO Services Company in Saudi Arabia. He has worked on national political campaigns, produced long form corporate documentaries for international clients and won national ADDYS and CLIOS. In 1994, Jim shot, directed and edited an image-enhancement film for the Mississippi Department of Economic & Community Development, which was recognized internationally with awards including a Golden Hugo in the Chicago International Film Festival to Best Director in the 1996 International Monitor Awards. His recent economic development film for the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce, "Through Our Own Eyes," received much acclaim. Jim and his new film company, Dollarhide Film, Inc. continue to produce a unique brand of corporate and institutional film in Jackson, MS. Jim's brothers David and Bill live in Jacksonville, Florida and Pensacola, Florida, respectively. David is retired a pilot with Delta Airlines and Bill operates a retail music products store. The eldest brother, Roger, Jr. (1936-1986) was a recording studio engineer and musician/songwriter who lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles, California.
