David Alston Dollarhide Family

David, born March 12, 1942 in Grenada, Mississippi, is the second son of Roger Freeman Dollarhide and Adelaide Dollarhide.

Roger (1912-1995) was originally from central and south Arkansas, and married Adelaide (1917-1987) in Grenada, Mississippi and raised four sons in north and central Mississippi.

David's brothers Jim and Bill live in Jackson, Mississippi and Pensacola, Florida, respectively.  David's older brother, Roger Freeman Dollarhide, Jr. (1936-1986) was an accomplished recording studio engineer and musician/songwriter who lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles, California.

David is a 1960 graduate of Murrah High School in Jackson, MS and 1964 graduate of Mississippi State University.  He married Chris Yirak of Jacksonville, FL in 1968.  Chris is a 1964 graduate of Forrest High School in Jacksonville.  David was a Naval Aviator when they married and had just returned from a Vietnam cruise on the USS Forrestal.  Subsequently David was an airline pilot with National Airlines, Pan American World Airways and then Delta Air Lines from which he retired in early March, 2002.

They have two children, David, Jr. born in 1970 and Anne born in 1975.  David, Jr. married in 1998 and he and his wife Tammy had a son, David III in 1998.

Chris and David live in Orange Park, FL, as do David, Jr. and his family.  David, Jr. is a pilot with American Eagle.  Daughter Anne lives in Atlanta and works as a writer with CNN.
