When I first heard the name "Dollarhide" I thought that it was a very unusual name. I'm amazed at the number of Dollarhides there are out there. My husband Robert E. Lee 's mother is Annie Dollarhide. Her mother and Father were Nellie Maggard Dollarhide and Wade Dollarhide. Wade's father was James Dollarhide and his mother was Eliza Jane Roberts. This is a very interesting family. I enjoy the message board very much. Lois.

My grandfather was Rev. S.D. Dollahite, and his wife was Willie Marie Manning. He built the First Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas. They had four sons, and one daughter. The sons were Samuel, Joe, Herbert, Ed and the daughter was Florence Marie. Any information would be appreciated.

I was trying to find what state a Nancy Ann Kerr was born in, She married my gg grandfather. Their 1st child Elizabeth Wilgus married a Henry Warnstaff in Ross County, Ohio. One of their children Nancy Ann Warnstaff was born in Ind. she married Albert Dollarhide and lived in Wapello, Iowa, the 1856 census of Louisa Co. Iowa show they had two children Tabetha age 5 and Luvina age 2, also living with them was Elizabeth (Wilgus) Warnstaff. and thats how I got to this site and noted that some of you made be descendents of the same grandfather Samuel J. Did Asahel Dollarhide of Nachitoches (later Sabine) Parish, La. have a son named Isaac? Isaac is in the 1820 Natchitoches census as being born 1775-1804 and is the only apparent candidate to be the father of Anna Dollarhide b 1817 Tenn. who married Thomas Jefferson Arthur b 1809, Ky. Hi all. My grandmother(Mary June Dollarhide) is a Dollarhide, and I was wondering if she fits in with this line. Her father Lincoln Edward Dollarhide married his second wife(and Mary's mother) Ina Vena Norris somewhere around 1916. He was much older than her--I'm guessing he was born around 1880-1882. He had no children by his first wife(I don't know her name). They lived in Texarkana, but I don't know if that's where they married or if they moved there. I only know a little about his side--his family lived primarily in Little Rock, Arkansas. He had 4 brothers[Carl, Pat, Raymond, and Robert(Rob)] with one living in Nashville, TN. He also had 3 sisters[Bessie(Warren), Jo(Summerhill), and Alice(Battle)]. If you have any information, please email me. Thank you so much.

I was searching Dollarhite and I found Dollarhide.com and then I came here. I've always been told that a long time ago one of the Dollarhides' had 7 children with one women then something happened and he remarried and had 7 more kids and he didn't want the kids to have the same last name so he changed theirs to Dollarhite. Whether that's true or not I don't know. I've always wondered what the \ connection between all the variations was.

Ashael/Asel Dollarhide was my 3rd great grandfather.  He was born in North Carolina in 1751, married Youthan Williams of North Carolina,  daughter of William Williams.  They had several children, one of them was Absalom, my 2nd great grandfather who married Charlotte (Lottie) Brown of North Carolina.  They all moved to Marion Co.  Indiana around 1823/1824, living close together.  Ashael passed away in the 1840's and probably Youthan did too.  Does anyone know the exact burial sites of Ashael and Youthan?  Would appreciate any help.  Thanks!

This is in response to the Dollarhide looking for info on his father Donald King Dollarhide's side of the family.  Howard Dollarhide, son of Albert and Nancy Dollarhide was the father of Harold Harry Dollarhide. Howard was born in Wapello, Iowa and moved with his parents as a child to Sterling, Neb. There he married Anna Nissley. Albert and Nancy had several
children and my grandfather, Charles Carl was one them. so that makes us cousins. I have a lot of Dollarhide info I would be glad to share with you. I don't know if you are Dennis or Donnell.  The reason I know the names is that back in the '80's your mom sent me a picture of your dad and her and also one of Dennis and his family and Donnell and her family along with the Dollarhide coat of arms.  Have not corresponded with her since the '80's. The one going back to the "De la Hyde" in Ireland. It is really interesting. My real name is Billie Dale Rookstool Dollarhide. My Dollarhide connection is through my paternal Grandmother, MAUDIE DEAN HARRIS b. 15 Dec 1885 Sevier Co. AR d. 29 June 1963 San Angelo, TX mar Authur Thomas Gray 12 Nov 1902 Sevier CO.AR. 

Her parents were: ELIAS HARRIS AND NANCY ELIZABETH STROUD 

NANCY ELIZABETH STROUD first married WILLIAM TWEEDLE 

NANCY ELIZABETH STROUD was the daughter of JOHN P. STROUD and MATILDA DOLLARHIDE I have the three children of John P. Stroud and Matilda Dollarhide as:1. Nancy Elizabeth b. abt 1844 [on a census I found her as N.E. J., another place as Elizabeth Jane and on her marriage record to W. Tweedle as Nancy Elizabeth so I am led to believe that her full name was probably Nancy Elizabeth Jane],2. Rebecca b. abt 1846, no other information, 3. William Scott b. abt 1849 

After Matilda's death John P. Stroud remarried to Penelope Montgomery White, Matilda's cousin. Their children were: John S., Narcissa, Lucy, Melinda, Mary Belle, Benjamin F., Coleman, Martha, Kate 

I have MATILDA'S parents as ANDREW DOLLARHIDE and ELIZABETH BUTCHER, and that after the death of Andrew Elizabeth remarried to George McLendon. 

If anyone has any further information on any of those listed above it would be greatly appreciated.

My father is Ben Dollarhide and Grandfather also Ben Dollarhide. I know my father was born in ND. He went to High school in Timberlake SD. My grandfather owned a coal mine there.

His only child Roger Freeman Dollarhide (1912 - 1995) was our dad. We would like to know more about grandfather William, his immediate family and their descendants and his ancestors.
