Hello,
I came across your website and thought I would contact you, I am a
decendant of Jane Dollarhide, wife of Zimri Brown who was in
Tipton County, Indiana. You may already have information on them,
but if not I can share what I have. I am trying to find more on
Jane's parents, Asahel Dollarhide and Youthan Williams. I have a
little on Youthan and her father William Williams. I don't know
where in Indiana, Asahel and Youthan are buried but I think it
could be near Marion County, IN?? I also am unsure the mother of
Asahel, one record stated her maiden name was SAMPLE or STAPLE?
Another gives it as Mary or Sarah Bradshaw. You can e-mail me at

all!! (Bill, I finally made it! LOL!) Glad to see so many of us
coming out of the woodwork, we are not alone! :)Our branch of the
family descends, as best we know it at this point in time(9-98),
from Francis Sr., Francis Jr., Cornelius Sr., Cornelius Jr.,
Thomas Jefferson, Daniel Webster Sr. and Daniel Webster Jr., who
was my husband's grand dad. I've been working quite intensively on
the Dollahite genealogy, and happen to have the advantage of being
near a Regional Archives and a great Genealogy room in our public
library. I'm also on the mailing list started by Mark von Destinon
at his website, as I know some of you are too. I've got quite a
body of information at this point and I'd be glad to share what I
have, and would love to correspond with anyone else who is doing
this, so that we can compare and correct. Lots has been done on
other lines, but my TJ line has been pretty much ignored. However,
I am interesed in all lines and have gathered a lot of info about
everyone... and I answer my email!!!!
I'm really glad to meet all of you! (oh and Bill, I'm a musician

I
am Bill Dollarhide, currently living in Salt Lake City, formerly
of Washington State. I am a genealogist and for over twenty-five
years, I have located hundreds of Dollarhides, beginning with our
original immigrant, Francis Dollahide of 1680 to Maryland. My
particular line really starts with Jesse Dollarhide who married
Nancy Pierson in 1808, and lived in Wayne Co IN, then Tippecanoe
Co IN. He had four sons, John, Jesse, Jr., William, and Joel. My
ancestor was John, who was a circuit rider preacher for the
Evangelical United Brethren. He lived in IN, then IL, then IA,
then went to CA in 1860 with his large family. His son, John
Conrad Dollarhide was my grandfather. His son Albert was my
father. John Conrad D. died in Pt. Angeles, WA in 1934. Anyone
with a connection to Jesse Dollarhide should get in contact -- I
have a descendancy chart with over 500 people on it, all
descendants of Jesse. They are mostly California, Oregon, and
Washington people. |

come from a family of six Dollarhides in St. Louis Mo. My father,
Rockney Dollarhide, is a pilot for TWA airlines. I can't believe

My
sister found your site. I couldn't believe it!!! There are many
Dollarhide's here. My father spent the last 15 years of his life
working on the Dollarhide Geneology. He wrote a book on the
Dollarhides before his death in Jan. 1997. My father had his
master's degree, taught school for many years and was a vocational
rehab. counselor for the last 20 years before his retirement. The
Dollarhide Geneology was his life. I am so excited about the
possibilities of corresponding and comparing my father's work and
the work of others. |

Dollarhides. In Mobile, Alabama there are two families: mine and
my brother, Police Officer Dan Dollarhide, and his lovely new

My
son descends from the Dollarhides of Stokes Co., NC, through his
mother's line. These Dollarhides live/lived in what is now Stokes
and Forsyth counties, NC and southern VA, as well (i.e. Patrick
county). This line of Dollarhides goes back to a William
Dollarhide who was born ca 1800 in NC, and married Elizabeth
Riddle in Stokes Co., NC about 1830 or so. I have felt that
William was from Caswell Co., NC for some time, but cannot find a
link to those Dollarhides. Any help at some point would be greatly
appreciated. I have been maintaining a cemetery back in the woods
in Stokes county for a few years now that contains 40+ graves,
including that of William Dollarhide, who died in the 1840's.
